Sifu Goen began training at 10 years old and continued his training while in College in Oklahoma City. He trained in Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate) under Sensei Jeff and in the evening he supplemented his training with Kali/Escrima Stick Fighting under co-instructor Doug. Mr. Goen learned disipline and a balance learning both arts. After college Sifu Goen moved to Kansas City to begin a new career, and began training under Si Gung (Master Instructor) Scott Winokur at Midwest Chinese Martial Arts Center. Sifu Goen excelled under the guidence of Master Winokur and learned several of the arts he offered. Mr. Goen having learned kali/Escrima Stick Fighting years earlier rose quickly through the required material in the Xing Yong Trapping/Intercepting System. This training incorprated Escrima/Arnis/Silat Single and Double Stick Fighting as well as Stick/Knife combinations. In addition Goen learned many empty hand and wing chun type strikes and drills for sensitivity and awareness. Sifu Goen also trained in Xing Yong White Willow Style of Kung fu and it's Chinese Weapons system. These White Willow Long, Short, and Double weapons continued to enhance Sifu Goen's knowledge and understanding of various ranges of martial arts and his skill began to grow. As he learned Yang Tai Chi and Chi Kung (energy breathing exercises) he travelled to the internal side of his training and began to become well rounded in variety of styles and systems that related to each other. In 2007 he again moved back to Oklahoma and with Sigung Winokur's approval and blessing he under took the journey of now passing on the arts he learned to select dedicated students like himself.  Sifu Goen has competed successfully in several local and national martial arts tournaments gaining new insights and experiances. Sifu Goen continues to increase his knowledge and understanding by training with Master Winokur whenever he can to further benefit his students growth.
